Meet Daniella Capodilupo, our Influencer Marketing Manager for North America. Over the last decade she has held various roles within the creative marketing industry, and 4 months ago joined us working from South Florida to build a winning influencer marketing strategy at Preply. Let’s find out more!

How has your time at Preply been so far?
My time at Preply hasn’t felt like “work” and I think that’s what’s made it so special and enjoyable. From the very beginning, everyone has been super friendly, helpful and you immediately know you’re at a place where your ideas and contributions are valued. I really couldn’t have asked for a better experience thus far, especially when you consider starting a new job with a company based in another country, meeting your co-workers over Zoom, and having to coordinate schedules due to time differences.

What are your day-to-day responsibilities in your role?
Everyday looks a little different accompanied with those underlying day-to-day tasks. At the moment we’re kicking off our first influencer campaign which at a high level consists of vetting influencer recommendations, reviewing and approving creative concepts and creating and establishing internal processes to support influencer content (such as tracking setup, tutor relationship management, and customer support). Additionally, we’re working to secure an Influencer Marketing (IM) tool that will enable us to create, manage and scale influencer campaigns internally as we look to build out Preply’s influencer marketing practice and strategy more, leading into 2022.

What has been the most exciting challenge for you so far?
Definitely getting to a place where we have results and data to show the true impact of Influencer Marketing and it’s value. The Influencer space is still a new thing for a lot of brands and it’s always a fun challenge to show how it works independently as its own channel. It’s naturally something that just takes time. You have to be able to test and refine, and that’s exactly what we’re doing!

What has been your most impressive learning?
Tracking audience behavior from influencer content. We’ve been doing a deep dive into tracking and the type of data we’re able to collect from influencers posting content to show additional impact (i.e. creating retargeting lists, boosting, etc).

What do you enjoy about working at Preply?
The people and the collaboration. I’ve really enjoyed working for a global brand and being able to meet people from all over the world. Also the openness around trying new things and finding a way to disrupt how things are traditionally done.

My favorite way to recharge and spark new creativity, spend time outdoors.

How do you feel Preply empowers their people?
Preply trusts their people to do what they’re hired to do. I think that instills reciprocated trust and confidence in what we do everyday.

What are your hobbies outside of Preply?
Traveling, spending time at the beach, anything outdoors really. I also enjoy the occasional art event or music festival, and of course spending time with family and friends.

How do you see Preply impacting diversity and inclusion within the design team?
With Preply having D&I at the heart of what we’re trying to do as a business, I think that will come through explicitly within our design team and the work we create to represent who we are.
